Finally Finished – My Music Video

Well, it’s almost entirely finished. George Lucas stated “…films are never completed, they’re only abandoned.”1 Well, I can understand. The video is not yet 100% to my liking, as there are certainly still a few problems. The lip-sync is faulty in a few places, one of the transitions is not yet to my liking, and one microphone shot — with the speakers in the background — is a bit too long. I also hope to have another session to shoot with the model, the wonderful Iveth Gomez from DFW. Since I now have a camera which can shoot in Cinema Mode,...

Homeless Heroics in Houston

Through no Fault || Overarching Crisis || Asking Ourselves || Solution Houston || Update 2407.31 One city works to solve a national embarrassment Through No Fault “When I pulled up to the house I knew something was wrong,” Art told me.  Yet it would be several days until he found out his world would soon be turned upside down. Art1 greeted the well-dressed man with Brylcreemed hair and an adulating assistant returning from the front door.  “Would you happen to know if Mr Smith2 is available?” “That’s my landlord.  I hardly ever speak to him.  I think he has a bunch...

A Brit Said it Right About Trump

British Writer Pens The Best Description Of Trump I’ve Read The ex-Prez with indictments for criminal conspiracy and theft of official documents, and who is the only gov. official TWICE impeached, who shared secrets with foreign nations, is somehow the GOP nominee for the next election. So, footballer (soccer) Nate White asks the following question: “Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?” A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety,...

Nikki Haley Will NOT Save the GOP

Her latest debate performance shows just how out of touch with reality she really is Former South Carolina Governor and Secretary of State Nikki Haley is, for some reason, over 20 points behind pussy-grabber DJTrump in the polls. And although she is nowhere near the threat to the republic he is, after watching the latest tete-a-tete with Desantis, I’ve changed my mind. Originally I thought if the primary comes to TX and DJT and her are on the ballot, I’d switch my party to the letter R, despairingly cast my vote for her as a bullet against DJT, then the next...

Making a Hero

The Newest Houston Hero Disagree, maybe, we must. I will acknowledge there are valid arguments on both — indeed all — sides of this argument. And no matter where you place your bets in this discussion, the only certainty is it’s one we must have. On January 9 at a small but well-reviewed restaurant called Ranchito Taqueria #4 here in Houston, as diners peacefully munched on tacos and tostadas, a lone gun-wielding thug entered the scene. Wearing gloves and a medical mask, he pointed a handgun at the customers, threatening the lives of several patrons. He demanding wallets and money. The...

Thankful for Whom?

Today, America is celebrating another feasting festival known as Thanksgiving, where supposedly the nation unites with family to feast on turkey and watch the Detroit Lions once again embarrass themselves in their annual nationally televised upset. This year, 2022, is the 401st Thanksgiving. Yet each year, more and more people are becoming familiar with the story behind the holiday, and how it is, more than any other American holiday (with the possible exception of July 4), an indictment of white expansionism and colonialism.  We see depictions of pilgrims breaking bread with Amerinds (American Indians) wearing full headdress and velum loincloths; men,...

“. . . Not As I Do.”

The horrors and hypocrisies of the anti-choice movement know no bounds The Supreme Court’s recent decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health is easily one of the worst, most short-sighted decisions since the September 24, 1789 passage of the Judiciary Act.  In the 85,009 days between its founding and this disastrous decision, the Court has made several ghastly decisions, most of which have been rescinded or overruled by subsequent Congressional law. One of the major problems with the entire hearings in Dobbs which lead to the final ruling is the lack of professional medical guidance.  In the original Roe v. Wade decision,...

Humanities Nirvana in Fort Worth

Today, wifey and I spent exactly $ 00.00 for free Saturday admission to the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. The building itself on the outside resembled a vaulted German WWII bunker lining the beaches of Normandy. Inside, the open stretched gallery layout provided ample room and variability in illumination and display. Later this year, the main building turns 50. Designed by Louis Kahn, it was the last major project to finish before his passing. And no, he was not the brother of renown Detroit-based architect Albert Kahn. I’ve been to some of the top notch art museums in maybe 20...

Oh, The HYPOCRISY . . .

On Nov. 30, a man named Marcus Lamb died of Covid-19 in a sleepy suburb of Fort Worth. He is a distant relative of mine, though I have never met him. He is, however, related to family members I truly, deeply love. My sincere sympathy for loss goes out to my affected family members. I know they grieve, thus in my heart I grieve for their sense of loss. The story of why I write this is a long and complicated one. I do not doubt Mr. Lamb was a sincerely well-meaning person, whose love of his specific deities and attached...

Diary Entry 2111.28

Afterlife  ||  Thankful for Whom? Afterlife Having recently viewed the latest installment of the Ghostbusters franchise — and one which is an actual sequel to the two flicks from the 80s — I have posted my review. If you care to see that review, it can be found at: https://pearsonally.com/reviews/#mov You will also find other reviews.  Feel free to comment, agree, disagree on any.  Unfortunately my book reviews are behind, as several titles I’ve consumed have failed to inspire me to cut time to review. Thankful for Whom? America just celebrated another feasting festival known as Thanksgiving, where supposedly the nation...
