In a sadly lackluster strip club, a mediocre stripper takes a customer to his van to fulfill his desire for her. Near the end of foreplay that is as boring as the Golf Channel, she pops out her fangs and attacks him. He is able to get away from her, and he goes to the wheel, pulling away at breakneck speed as if he is fleeing the scene of the crime...except she is STILL IN THE VAN!! At this point we know we have inept writing of clumsy characters with no real development of story or plot, and the rest of this cesspool is similarly infected.
For instance, we jump to the crime scene, with photographers, yellow tape and a snarky detective (Richardson), where a crime column writer (Lynne) tries to get close to the scene. The detective, of course, denies her access, and even though she is a crime scene writer in a supposedly small 'burb, and he is a high-ranking detective, they had never before met!! And yet the implausibilities just keep coming...
Quite frankly there are nearly a dozen other room-clearing stinkers, like when the detective and the writer actually join forces...and he gives her a gun!!! I simply cannot believe someone actually thought these wouldn't be noticed. But, on with the review. The writer is also sexually frustrated, and the strip club is an underground s&m vampire club, which is members only, yet at least two people walk in without memberships!!! Okay, I'll try to be nice. Let's see...Oh, yeah, when the implausible couple go underground to check out the club (while investigating the murder, see) a stupid rip-off of EYES WIDE SHUT ensues, directed with about as much talent as Rush Limbaugh on the saddle horse.
There is sadly nothing engagingly erotic here, despite the marketed sensuality. The characters are unengaging, disinterested in their sheepish roles as obvious actors who look like they are actors trying to act like they're trying to act sexy. Too bad. So sad.
Not like it matters, but I would like to see the lead vampire (Stone) play in something a little more interesting. Brain Damage Films would be an appropriate step up.
Ends with a rockabilly cowboy song.

Easily one of the better shot-on-video cheapies hashed out by Brain Damage Films. The crew tries their best within the budget, with some surprisingly good production results. Two Goth characters vie for control over their ‘family’ of customers in a Goth club. Irvingson plays David, also called Anubis, with sturdy conviction and believability. His soliloquies on social ostracism ring true.
Sadly, some coin-flipping characterizations hold this back from being great. See it, however, and marvel at what could have been.
Begins with an excellent Ayn Rand quote.
One of the best versions of the traditional Dracula tale, with all the Stoker elements, from a great VanHelsing to the sunlight and small-town paranoia. The directing and action of the climax are superb.
Also released (in Britain) as DRACULA.
So successful six sequels followed.p>
First sequel: DRACULA-PRINCE OF DARKNESS.
Sequel: NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS.
