EMBRACE OF THE VAMPIRE

- *** -

1994 / 92m.

D: Anne Goursaud

Martin Kemp, Alyssa Milano, Harrison Pruett, Charlotte Lewis, Jennifer Tilly

Decent vamp flick filled with sexy naked women and sexual tension. The opening scene, with Kemp being seduced (and ultimately bitten) by three busty, luscious vamps, is alone worth the price of ownership. In addition, Milano's often-seen body, and her edgy lesbian encounter with a sexy photographer bring this one up a notch.

Vampire Kemp has three days before going into a long sleep when he discovers a virginal maiden similar to one he lost many years ago. One problem: she (Milano) has a (very patient) boyfriend.

Director Goursaud was an editor on the legendary BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA. Supertitled, for some strange reason, as The Nosferatu Diaries, although these are two very different vamps.

'Rated' version is 1 minute shorter, and included on the same DVD -- but who would choose to NOT see Milano's lovely tits?

ETERNAL BLOOD

2002 / 107m.

D: Jorge Olguín / DP:

Juan Pablo Ogalde, Blanca Lewin, Patricia Lόpez, Carlos Bόrquez

Surprisingly good Chilean vamp flick with good production values and decent story.

Role-playing is prevalent. One early scene has a Goth-clad vamp tearing the head off a habit-clad nun. She holds it high to drip the holy blood into her mouth. It is cinematic genius. Unfortunately, it is only a fantasy of the role-players.

Of course, the fantasy goes too far for one young vamp wannabee.

Don't think too much at the end or you'll notice weaknesses that will dilute your involvement.
