Lots of crap for you to contemplate.
FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS | FEMALE VAMPIRE | | THE FORSAKEN | FRIGHT NIGHT ('85) | FRIGHT NIGHT ('11) | FRIGHT NIGHT PART 2 | FROM DUSK TILL DAWN | FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 2 | FROST: PORTRAIT OF A VAMPIRE
Known for its great sight gags. The 108m. version is Polanski's unbutchered one, so avoid the 89m. version.

In order to make it in 5 days to his sister’s wedding, movie-trailer editor Shawn (Smith) agrees to drive a divine Mercedes from L. A. to Miami. On the way, wallet lost and with overwhelming stress on the horizon, he ignores better judgment and shares part of the ride and expenses with Nick (Fehr), a.k.a. vampire killer. Good production values, including decent casting and direction, razor-sharp editing and photography lift a predictable -- but fun --story. The scene where a pig gets doused with gasoline and burned alive on his patrol car is satisfying. Marketed toward a teen audience. [ Origins Explained ]

With a balanced blend of cleverness and humor, this adaptation of the romanticized myth begins with teenager Charley Brewster (Ragsdale) sensing trouble moving in next door. No one believes Charley’s explanation for a sudden series of murders and missing persons: a vampire is the new neighbor! And his mother has just invited the revenant in the house for a neighborly chat!
Time to contact a late-night horror film host (and fading ex vampire killer in Hammer-style B movies) Peter Vincent (McDowell). Even this character’s name reminds us of two giants in the history of horror cinema, and with equal believability McDowell pulls off this timid and financially troubled counterpart smoothly. Hired originally by Charley’s friends to make Charley believe his neighbor (Sarandon) is normal, Vincent eventually becomes convinced instead of his supernatural nature in a well-played, tense exchange.
Contains some of the coolest drawn-out reverse transformations ever. The ending reminds us of HORROR OF DRACULA (and the later SILENCE OF THE LAMBS), and the final curtain shot shoulders silliness with its intended effect...but you won’t care.
Very well written by director Holland, who later went on to write and direct CHILD'S PLAY and pen the 2011 semi-revamp (pun-intended).
You’ll laugh; you’ll scream...this one’s a dream.
Sequel: FRIGHT NIGHT PART 2. Also (for some reason) remade in 2019.

Based on a comic book called Jack Frost, this waste can’t decide if it’s about commando missionaries or vampires, revenge or the supernatural. Our hero, Jack Frost (Manzanares) doesn’t even realize he has to kill his best friend (Lister) until the end, leading us to think another one of these dogs are in the making. The “portrait” here is more of a vampire killer in the making than of a vampire. I would have preferred if the title actually had something to do with the film.
Only for the terribly bored. Even hemp smoking doesn’t help.
Trust me.
